香港大学中医药学院的创立与发展

Founding and developing TCM College of Hongkong University

香港大学中医药学院诞生于一个西方文化为主流的大学里,如何坚持中医药东方文化和学科的特点,进而推动中医药国际化和现代化,一直是我们关注的课题。针对如何在香港大学发展中医药教育,兼容东西方文化,开创中医药学术的健康发展,以香港大学中医药学院的尝试为例,探讨了3个方面的问题:1港大百年积淀的开放包容的办学思想和实践,为高等中医药教育的开办提供了土壤和新的思路;2中医药学术的建设与发展,必须坚持中医药特色,融入港大文化,兼收并蓄;3中医药学术要积极走向世界,推动多元文化交流,拓展视野。通过回顾香港大学有关国学及中国文化的历史,梳理中医药学院10余年的历程中的重要事项,整理了在此过程中面对挑战和借机发展的种种尝试,阐明了中医药学院可以在香港大学诞生的历史人文环境,为在一个西化的大学里,如何创建中医药学院,发展中医药教育和学术研究提供了参考。

Set in a university where Western culture dominates, TCM College of Hongkong University always aims at retaining the Eastern culture of the subjects in the process of making them modern and international. The way to ensure the healthy development of TCM research in Hongkong University lies in developing TCM education and integrating the Western culture with the Eastern culture. TCM College of Hongkong University is a case in point. Firstly, it explores the legacy of inclusive attitude of Hongkong University to prepare for TCM higher education. Secondly, it tries to integrate Eastern culture and Western culture. Thirdly, it demands that TCM should go to the world so as to propel the communications among various cultures. Reviewing the related sinology of Hongkong University, the history of Chinese culture and the various important related practices in the past decade, the paper throws a light on the fact that it is feasible to establish TCM College in Hongkong University, thus giving reference concerning the establishment of TCM College in a Westernized university.
