摘要
作为我国古代伟大的佛经翻译家,支谦在佛经翻译活动中所展现出来的"求信"、"求雅"的翻译理念究其本质就是清末学者严复所归纳出来的"信达雅"翻译观。支谦的翻译思想是中国本土翻译理论之起源,它植根于中华文化之沃土,成长于佛典翻译活动,具有鲜明的中国文化特色和民族个性。挖掘支谦的翻译思想,并以现代视域加以阐释,旨在将之纳入当代中国翻译理论的话语体系,古为今用;同时也修正我国译界某些学人对其片面的解读,更正其滥用西方翻译话语理论予以随意裁剪之行为。
As a great translator of sutra translation, Zhi Qian, through his translation activities, presented his own translation thought characterized by faithfulness and elegance which is in nature the basis of Yan Fu's translation principle of Faithfulness, Expressiveness and Elegance. Such a translation thought can be regarded as the source of Chinese translation views, as it grew up in Chinese culture and finds cultural and national reflection in it. This paper, offering a thorough analysis and a present-day interpretation of Zhi Qian's translation thought, is aimed to correct some biased explanation or mis-interpretation of Zhi Qian's translation thought within the framework of western translation discourse.
