摘要
美国印第安文学新秀谢尔曼·阿莱克西的第二部长篇小说《印第安杀手》描述了美国白种人与印第安人之间的一系列种族暴力对抗事件。种族对抗的历史使得白人和印第安人之间相互有着刻板的偏见;文化与宗教的差异亦在增加种族间的误解隔阂;媒体的不当言论又不断煽动着种族对立情绪。这都使得白人与美国印第安种族关系不断恶化。
Indian Killer is a novel written by Sherman Alexie, featuring a series of violent racial confrontations between Indians and white Americans. The history of violent racial confrontation between Indians and white Americans rendered them full of prejudice against each other. Ethnic, cultural, and religious differences have all fuelled the racial misunderstandings and estrangement. Inappropriate remarks by media stir up racial resistance sentiment. All these factors lead to the deteriorating racial relationship between Indians and the white.
