On the Types of Counterfactual Conditionals

根据两种不同的标准对反事实条件句进行分类,第一种划分是根据前件在事实上为假或者不太可能为真,我们将其分为前件为假的反事实条件句和前件不太可能为真的条件句。第二种划分是根据前后件关联程度的不同,我们将其分为"也许"反事实条件句和"定会"反事实条件句。

The present article aims to classify counterfactual conditionals according to two different criteria. Based on the first criterion where preconditions are negative or less likely to be positive, we classify them into such two types as counter -factual conditionals with negative preconditions and counter -factual conditionals with unlikely positive preconditions. Based on the second criterion where the correlations between preconditions and postconditions are different, we classify them into such two types as ＂indefinite counterfactual conditional＂ and＂ definite counterfactual conditional＂.
