摘要
以航海英语为例,从认知语义学视角分析行业英语中语义变化的现象,总结出航海英语语义变化是船员根据认知模式对航海实践活动进行范畴化和概念化的结果。分析结果表明:航海英语语义变化产生于船员对航海活动的体验,范畴化和隐喻机制是产生语义变化的重要原因。
Taking maritime English as a case study,the paper analyzes the semantic change in vocational English from the perspective of cognitive semantics.It is concluded that semantic change in maritime English results from crew＇s cognitive models,categorization and conceptualization of marine activities.The findings show that semantic change in maritime English arises from crew＇s sailing experience,with the main reason of categorization and metaphor mechanism.
