Objective: To explore the mediating roles of different drinking motives between number of peers who consume alcohol and adolescents' drinking. Methods: A sample of 709 was recruited to complete a questionnaire survey. Results: ①Of all the participants, 21.86% reported ever drinking during the last three months. ②Number of peers who consume alcohol not only directly predicted adolescents' drinking, but also indirectly affect adolescents' drinking through enhancement, social, and coping motives, respectively. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that peers who consume alcohol shapes the drinking motives in adolescents, which, in turn, influences adolescents' drinking.
