This paper elaborated the historical development of relay protection technology, and analyzed the technical features of relay protection system under the information age. Relay protection system major significance to the stability of the power supply system, we must pay attention to their work status and direction of development, only on the basis of fully understanding its work principle, so as to take appropriate measures to promote the further development of power supply of our country.
