对于巴基斯坦而言,加入上海合作组织的主要动因是稳定国内安全形势,促进经济发展。对于上海合作组织而言,吸纳巴基斯坦为新成员,主要考虑是维护合作组织各成员的安全利益。因此,上海合作组织的此次扩员,对于巴基斯坦和上海合作组织而言,既是机遇也是挑战。巴基斯坦可以借此实现国内经济状况和安全形势的改善,同时又需要承担更多的责任。而上海合作组织则可以借此扩大这一合作组织的影响力,改善地区安全环境,同时也面临一些新的内外环境变化所带来的考验。

In order to keep domestic situation calm,improve economy and develop relations with regional countries,Pakistan joined in Shanghai Cooperation Organization. And Shanghai Cooperation Organization can take advantage of Pakistan's superiority to obtain more power and play an important role in regional affairs. Pakistan still faces a lot of problems to be resolved though it joined in Shanghai Cooperation Organization. How to deal with relationships with members and other regional organizations is a problem.
