The development of technology has made the cartographic work more convenient and the products more close to the domestic users. Individual map has been made up to meet the demands for all kinds of users. This paper analyses the influence that individual map towards the traditional theory of cartography,then discusses the principle and means of individual map design,providing suggestion to make the map more individual and characteristic.
