The Hours, written by Michael Cunningham as its chief source, has attracted wide criticism, however, , Taking Virginia Woolf＇s famous novel Mrs. Dalloway seldom critics paid any attention to the stardom in the novel. This paper will analyze its cultural implication of celebrities from the following three aspects ： commercializa- tion, measurement of individual value, and different attitudes towards their particular taste. And also the effects of the mass culture on ordinary people＇s life will be discussed.
