语域理论视阈下《早秋》的人物塑造解读

An Interpretation of Characterization in Early Autumn Based on the Perspective of Register Theory

本文基于系统功能语法中语域理论的三个情景要素"语场"、"语旨"、"语式",对兰斯顿·休斯的经典短篇小说《早秋》中的人物塑造进行语域分析,展示不同语域的选择对刻画人物的有效作用,并进一步指出语域理论在诠释文学文本内涵上的理论和实践价值。

Based on register theory of functional linguistics, this paper gives a register analysis of characterization in Early Autumn, a classical short story by Langston Hughes from the three situational aspects of field, tenor and mode to show the effectiveness of different choices of register in character portrayal. Further, it is concluded that the application of register theory into literary text interpretation is both of theoretical and practical significances.
