On Buddhism of the Early Tang Dynasty

佛教自汉代传入,经魏晋南北朝,至唐进入了成熟阶段。佛教带来了一种观察世界的新视角,一种思考人生的新途径。这是佛教对中国学术文化最重大的贡献,一方面,南北佛学相互融合,开创出各大宗派,相互竞争,促进了佛教的繁荣。另一方面,统治者如高宗、武后等多有崇佛之举,客观上对佛教的发展起了推动作用。

Buddhism,has entered the mature stage,form the Wei Jin Dynasties to the Tang Dynasty,In the early time of more than one hundred years in the Tang Dynasty,Buddhism is the mainstream of folk belief.It has brought a new perspective of the world,a new way of thinking about life.This is a very important contribution to academic culture,the Buddhism fusion of the North and South,create various sects,mutual competition,promote the prosperity of Buddhism.On the other hand,rulers,such as Tang Gaozong、Emperor Wu Zetian,etc.they had played the most important role in the promoting of development on Buddhism in China.
