The four celebrities of Wang, Yang, Lu, and Luo rose in the literary circles of the early Tang Dynasty when court poetry prevailed. However, they were not constrained by set ideas and norms. Rather, they accomplished the pursuit of a new type of creative aesthetics in reforming court poetry. Their poetry glistened with enthusiasm and was awakened by social ideals high spirits.
