民初职业外交家与中国参加一战——以陆徵祥和顾维钧为中心的一个考察

中国参加一战在近代中国历史上是影响深远的一件大事,但长期以来由于民族悲情意识,人们对中国参战的解读不外乎是"帝国主义在中国扶植代理人的利益之争"。而近年来学界的认识已有很大转变,多能强调参加一战在中国近代史上的转折意义。不过,相关的细部研究还有待推进,如职业外交家群体与中国参战之关系,就还是一个有待深入考察的问题。陆徵祥及顾维钧为民初职业外交家之杰出代表,以陆徵祥和顾维钧为中心来探讨民初职业外交家与中国参战问题,对于探察民初中国内政外交之错综纠葛,及探讨在新的国际主义和民族主义思潮影响下一种新型外交之如何展现,皆具有重要的意义。

That China took part in the First World War was a far-reaching event. But during a long time, most Chinese people viewed the event as nothing but imperialist scramble of the good by their agents in China. In recent years, many Chinese historians had turned to emphasize the positive meaning of Chinese Participation in World War I. However, the research needs to be advanced, such as the role of professional diplomats with Chinese Participation in World War I which still needs more studying. Lou Tseng-Tsiang and Wellington Koo were outstanding representatives of professional diplomats in the early years of the Republic of China. A Study focusing on the two diplomats about their role in Chinese Participation in World War I could help us to understand this history more deeply.
