Temple Mural-A New Discover in Dandanwulike Site

丹丹乌里克遗址位于新疆塔克拉玛干沙漠腹地,策勒县城以北约90公里处。遗址西约60公里是和田河,东约35公里是克里雅河(图一)。

In October of 2002,a Chinese-Japanese expedition found a part of a temple mural during the research in Dandanwulike area.Soon after that,in November a salvage excavation was carried out.The rest of the mural was taken down.According to the materials got by Stein and the relative research,the time of this site can be dated to 4th-5th century A.D.Till the 8th century, incense in Buddhism temples was still quite vigorous.It was an important town on the southern way of Tang Silk Road,named'Jie Xie Town'.The characteristic and the style of the mural are quite similar to those were found before.It should be the remain of Tang Dynasty.
