Several Questions about Pianpuzi Culture

偏堡子文化得名于沈阳新民县偏堡沙岗子遗址[1]。1956年,调查者在该遗址的黑沙土层中采集到部分施有泥条附加堆纹、刻划纹的陶器,并敏锐注意到这类陶器在东北地区以往的考古工作中较为少见。但调查者未能将该文化遗存和采集的属于青铜时代的高台山文化遗存区分开来,而笼统地认为他们同属于新石器时代。

Pianpuzi Culture is a branch of Neolithic Culture which locates the Liao River and East of Liaoning Province.In terms of acknowledging the nature and age of some relics,scholars hold different opinion which causes many disparities on the basic questions of Pianpuzi Culture.With the essential work of definition and explanation on the nature of relics,the author comb down the published materials and divide three stages,early,middle and late stage.Then,through the comparison of the group relation,dating data and peripheral culture,the author considers the age limit of Pianpuzi Culture reaches the age earlier than 3000 BC and its early stage comes into the age of the fourth stage of Banpo Culture which is from3500 BC to 3000 BC,and its middle and late age is earlier than the age of upper Xiaozhushan Culture,3000 BC to 2500 BC.Finally,according to the regional differences reflected from the archaeological materials,the author divides the Pianpuzi Culture into Liao southeastern type and Liao northeastern type and reveals the distribution changes at different developmental stages of the two types.
