Scientific Analysis and Identification of A Stone Sculpture

一、引言本文的研究对象是高浮雕加刻绘一佛二菩萨(图一),这尊石造像收藏在美国哥伦比亚大学米里亚姆与瓦拉赫艺术美术馆。从残背屏的断裂处推测是由两株缠绕的菩提龙树透雕而成,龙树仅存树干,其余残,龙曲身向上,口吐束莲,上面有莲花化生童子双手合十端坐在莲花之上,右童子有残缺,左童子面相方圆。主尊右臂残,从主尊双臂动态和断处可推测原为右手施无畏印,左手做与愿印的思惟菩萨.

Based on artistic style,inscription,weathering traces,colored drawing and gilding of a stone sculptures,which is collected at Miriam and Wallach art gallery,Columbia University,this paper conducts a comprehensive analysis,the results provide the assistance of sculpture identification.This stone sculpture shows high degree of characteristic of Northern Qi Dynasty.Due to the results of research,the author gives the conclusion about the authenticity of this gilding stone sculpture.
