Tibet Autonomous Region’s economy looks outward for development Historicaly,Tibet in southwest China wasan important gateway and hub of tradeand cultural exchanges between Chinaa nd South Asian countries.However,the crossborder trade gradually dwindled to Tibetan livestock products,agricultural products such as rice,tea and byproducts,and other commodities like silk,ceramics,spices and handicraft items.
