Revalue at Emperor Tang Taizong's Poems

唐太宗是中国历史上文武全才的皇帝 ,他的诗歌大都显现出雄健高迈、感情激越、格调不俗的特点 ,初步体现了南方“清绮”与北方“贞刚”相融合的美学理想 ,在扭转华靡诗风、开创新的美学思想等方面有着积极的作用 。

Tang Taizong was a well cultured emperor with both literate and martial talent in Chinese history.Most of his poems, graceful and noble minded, were characterized by enthusiasm. His poems tentatively showed the aesthetic idea which combines the light fresh southern poetry style with the forceful vigorous northern style. They played a positive role both in changing the showy and superficial poetry style which was popular at his time, and in creating a new aesthetic idea. The position of Emperor Tang Taizong in the history of Tang Poetry should be given a new evaluation.
