从构成和品性来说,汉语在表达上特别富于情感色彩,内涵深邃而丰富,是一种富于张力的语言,一种诗性化的语言,一种产生伟大作品和作家的语言。汉语的优势和文学品性在近代和现代文学中并没有充分地体现出来,这与中国近现代政治经济和文化的弱势有关。当代文学的成就和地位与汉语强大的地位很不相称。中国当代文学应该有语言自信,应该充分发挥汉语的潜能,在语言上向民间学习,向西方学习,向古人学习,同时,文学创作上应该是多向度、多元化、多层次。中国当代文学应该充分发挥汉语的优势,从而更加繁荣并更充分地走向世界。

Chinese language, considered by it＇s consistence and nature, emotions and of profound and fruitful thought. It is a language full of tension language is a language of rich and poetic colour, a bred great literature and great writers. The advantages of Chinese language and it＇s nature have not been exposed in modem literature. This is somewhat due to the weakness of China＇s culture, politics, and economy in the modem times. There is a great imbalance between the achievement and position of Chinese modem literature and the exceptionally strong position of Chinese language. Chinese contemporary literature should has it＇s self-confidence and thus well reach it＇s full potential. It should learn from the civil society, from the western world, and from the ancient people. Meanwhile, literary creation of Chinese contemporary literature should be multidimensional, multicultural, and multilayered. Chinese contemporary literature should and will one day reach the full potential of Chinese language and be of more prosperity, and hence step fully towards the globe.
