Discuss on the Process and Reasons of the People of Qin's Elaborate Funeral

秦人的厚葬之风自从西垂时期就已经形成,一直到秦始皇。秦的历代帝王都进行厚葬。在上行下效之下,贵族、平民也开始进行厚葬。秦人的厚葬,首先与其灵魂观念和祖先崇拜有关;其次与其"事死如事生"的孝亲观念相关;当然流风所致,世俗"死以奢侈相高"是秦人厚葬的又一原因。

The custom of elaborate funeral had begun from the era of Xi Chui to the First Emperor of Qin. All the kings of Qin were the the advocator of the elaborate funeral. It was influenced by the kings＇ elaborate funeral not only the nobles but also the populace. The ideas of the soul, the custom of worshipping ancestors, filial piety and the eommon effect was the reasons of the fashion for the elaborate funeral.
