The latest statistics, released by the UK's Independent Schools Council, indicate one in five new pupils comes from another country. The UK's most famous boarding schools, including Eton College aqd WelLington College, attract 15 percent of their students from other countries. That is up from around 8 percent two decades ago. Chinese students account for 20 percent of the students from other countries. There are more than 100 public schools in the UK. Teachers at public schools pay attention to the development of students' personalities. Simon Henderson, headmaster of Eton College, says the point of school is to prepare young people for happiness and success in their personal and working lives.
