当代美国印裔作家作品中的庶民意识探析——以裘帕·拉希莉小说创作为中心

Subaltern Consciousness of the Contemporary Indian American Works:Taking the Novels of Jhumpa Lahiri for Example

裘帕·拉希莉是美国当代知名印裔女作家,截至目前为止,其一共创作了《疾病解说者》、《同名人》、《不适之地》、《低地》四部小说,每部作品一经出版便好评不断,研究者们运用不同理论从不同角度对其作品进行了解读。通过分析我们发现,发起于南亚的庶民学派的相关理论也与拉希莉的小说创作紧密相连,特别是该学派所倡导的从属性与主体性相统一的庶民意识在拉希莉的作品中得到反复书写和重现。

Jhumpa Lahiri is a popular Indian American writer. Up to now, she has written some famous novels like The Namesake, The Lowland and so on, each of them has won universal praise from readers. Scholars analyze her works from different angles with the help of different theories. However, the theory of Subaltern School initiated in South Asia is closely linked with Lahiri＇s novel, in which the subaltern consciousness has been repeatedly written and reproduced.
