容闳是近代"西学东渐"的产物,也是近代"西学东渐"的推动者。容闳的"西学东渐"事业曲折坎坷,屡受挫折,但容闳希望通过"西学东渐"富强中国的信念却一直没有动摇,容闳"西学东渐"的努力推动了中国的近代化进程,其本人在近代"西学东渐"中的地位也得到了后人的认可。

Rong Hong was an outcome product and an impeller of the Eastward Spread of Western Cultures, during which period his career came across constant difficulties and frustrations. However, his firm belief of using Western Cultures to make China prosperous and powerful has never been disturbed, his efforts have facilitated the modernization of China, therefore, his status has been recognized by later generations.
