浅谈王国维对西学的接受

On Wang Guowei's Acceptance of Western Cultures

在对西学的接受上,童年时期王国维经过父亲的开明引导,对西学有着开放接纳的态度;在二十世纪初新学热潮下,他曾学习西方数理之学,但最终选择了哲学研究方向;而在三十岁之时,却表示自己已疲于哲学,于是远离西学,转而投身中国文史考据研究。观王国维对西学的接受过程,在三十综岁之前他的主要态度是主动、积极的,三十岁之后则是远离、消极的,但西方哲学尤其是叔本华的悲观主义等思想却影响了他的一生。

In terms of Western Cultures, Wang Guowei had an open mind to accept them with his father＇s guidance. In the early 20 th century of ＂new-learning＂ trend, he used to study western Math and Science, but eventually he chose philosophy as his research orientation. When he was thirty, he stated that he was fed up with philosophy and stayed away from it ever since, then he devoted himself to the study of literary and historic textual research. From the process of him accepting western cultures, it is clear that he held an active and positive attitude before he was thirty whereas after thirty his attitude changed to the opposite. Nevertheless, the western philosophy especially Schopenhauer＇s pessimism has placed great influence on him in his entire life.
