Research on the Mercantilism of Huizhou Merchants under the Human Capital Theory

人力资本理论揭示了教育对于人力资本积累的意义以及人力资本积累对于经济社会可持续发展的贡献,而古代徽商"贾而好儒"的经商实践则印证了这一理论。由于"贾而好儒"让徽商拥有了大量的人力资本,使得徽商既具有很高的文化与商业素质,又营造出了良好的经商环境,促成了徽商的迅速崛起。徽商的成功实践为我们进一步认识与践行人力资本理论提供了有益的启示。

The human capital theory reveals the significance of education, as well as its contribution for sustainable economic and social development. The mercantilism underpinned by Confucian belief contributed to accumulate a huge amount of human capital, which helped Huizhou merchants gain a high cultural and commercial quality to create good business environment and finally a rapid rise.
