摘要
詹姆斯·乔伊斯的短篇小说集《都柏林人》一直被解读成揭示人的精神瘫痪的文本,笔者拟从伦理学角度,选择其中一篇《伊芙琳》作解读,认为乔伊斯真正想阐释的是个人在社会责任和自身幸福之间两难的伦理选择。
Dubliners, James Joyce＇ Collection of short stories, is always regarded as the text of the interpretation of human＇s spiritual paralysis. From the aspect of ethical literary criticism, this paper is going to explore the story ＂Evelyn＂ in it. The author argues that what James Joyce really wants to express is the dilemma of ethic choice between social responsibility and the main character＇s own happiness.
