摘要
老舍文学作品的影视化过程,是一个有意义的研究题目。最初试图把小说《骆驼祥子》影视化的是1948年旅居美国的影坛名人黄宗霑。但由于战乱,他的计划未能实现。1962年,袁仰安在香港把《骆驼祥子》改编成了电影《浪子双娃》。然而这是一次独特的"再创作"——故事背景从20年代的北京改编成60年代的香港,故事情节也做了大幅度的更改。但无论是人物的关系,还是作品的框架结构,都无疑源自老舍的小说《骆驼祥子》。袁仰安之所以大幅度地更改原作,以致作品的主题都"走了样儿",是受到当时影片制作环境的制约。但在老舍文学作品影视化的历史纪录里,袁仰安《浪子双娃》应该有它的一席之地。
The adaptation of Lao She's literary works into movies or TV plays is a meaningful research topic.James Wong Howe,a movie celebrity resident in USA in 1948,was the first person attempting to adapt Lao She's novel The Rickshaw Boy into a movie,which ended up in failure due to warfare. In 1962,Yuan Yang'an managed to adapt the novel The Rickshaw Boy into a movie The Loafer Shuangwa in Hong Kong,which is,nevertheless,a unique "recreation",as is evident both in the change of the setting from Beijing in the 1920 s to Hong Kong in the1960 s and in substantial transformations of the plot. However,the movie The Loafer Shuangwa is surely,in both its character relationship and its frame structure work,modeled upon Lao She's novel The Rickshaw Boy. That Yuan Yang'an made such tremendous changes to the original work that the movie theme became "rather different"was due to the restraint of the movie production environment of that era. Anyway,in the historical record of the adaptation of Lao She's literary works into movies and TV plays,Yuan Yang'an's The Loafer Shuangwa should have its place.
