卡西尔认为人类全部文化是一种动态的符号体系,是一个有机的整体。所有的事实都表现为某种形式,且所有的形式都具有一种内在的统一性,统一的基点为符号的功能。人创造了神话、语言、艺术、历史和科学等高级的社会符号形式,并以此为部分和构件建造了人的自由的世界。卡西尔的符号形式观是动态的,每一种形式都处于不同程度的传统与改革、复制与创造的二元对立的无止境的运动中。这种动态的形式魅力揭示了人类文化的传承与更新、不断自我解放向着自由的彼岸挺进的轨迹。文章认为卡西尔的符号形式观对语言研究、翻译研究和语言教学都具有重要的启示,对理解、发扬及发展中华文化也具有重要的意义。

Cassier believes that all the human cultures are a dynamic system of symbolic forms, and is an organic whole system. All facts present as symbolic forms, and all forms have an intrinsic unity, and the unity is the function of symbolic forms. Humans have created advanced social symbolic forms such as myth, language, art, history and science; and have used these as parts and constructed human liberal world. Cassier's view on the symbolic forms is dynamic. Each form is constantly experiencing various levels of tradition and transformation, and is in an endless motion of two opposing forces' reproduction and creation. The charm of this dynamic form reveals the tradition and regeneration of human culture, continuous self-improvement towards the track of liberation. The paper proposes that Cassier's view of symbolic forms is a significant inspiration to language studies, translation research and language teaching, and has great significance to understanding,promoting and developing Chinese culture.
