The Legend of Lonza Sword is the only existent works of the vagrant drama of Qing Dynasty. It is noted that many metaphors are used in the play and these metaphors can be classified into two types-metaphorical narratives concerning the characters and those concerning the allusions. These metaphors play an important role in suggesting the meaning of the work. In addition,a large quantity of allusions is used. Based on the understanding of the writer＇s life experience and the background of composition,it is noticeable that the use of these allusions greatly enriches the connotation of the play. The analysis of the metaphors and the allusions can significantly promote the understanding of the social value of the work and the determination of its role in the history of literature.
