The essay applies American existential philosopher Paul Tillich's anxiety theory and psychologist Rollo Mayg anxiety theory to analyze the sense of anxiety in An Artist of the Floating World. Militarist Ono suffered triple anxiety in his later years life experience. Anxiety of identity and culture also haunted him. The root of Onob multi -anxiety lies in the misplacement in his values. Eventually Ono faced anxiety and took measures to solve it. The novel probes into the sense of anxiety of modem people and discovers humanistic concern. Anxiety cannot be avoided. Facing it bravely and taking positive measures to defuse it is a real solution.
