Three Inquiries into the Nature of Linguistic Philosophy

本文以推进中国语言哲学研究为标的,提出了三个理论性问题并尝试给了自己的解释。这三个问题是:1)语言哲学是个什么样的"学"?文章认为哲学包括语言哲学有两重性,它既是学科体系里的"学科",又是一种"求智"的探索精神;2)语言哲学有中西之分吗?文章认为语言哲学是"从语言出发解决哲学的问题",由于中西语言和哲学传统的迥异,中国语言哲学的研究应该不同于西方语言哲学;3)语言哲学的体和用是什么?文章认为中国文化的特色是知行合一,中国语言哲学也应该是个道器并重的研究,既解决认识问题,又解决实践问题。

The paper makes three inquiries into the nature of linguistic philosophy and tries to give its own explanation. 1）What＇s the nature of linguistic philosophy as a discipline？ It is at the same time a scholastic learning and an attitude to explore the unknown; 2） Is there a Chinese linguistic philosophy as a counterpart of Western linguistic philosophy？ Linguistic philosophy aims at solving philosophical problems starting from linguistic inquiries. As China and West are different in their languages and philosophical traditions,it＇s natural for them to have different approaches in their research; 3） Should linguistic philosophy be a discipline which combines theory and practice？ Yes,especially from the Chinese tradition of combining knowing and doing.
