摘要
本文讨论英语和汉语疑问尾句的语法特点。疑问尾句可划分为两类:一类通过省略产生;另一类由空语类产生。疑问尾句跟前面的陈述句组成联合结构,由一个没有语音的连词所连接。有些助词通过语法化由疑问尾句演变过来,继承了不少疑问尾句的语法特点。
The grammatical properties of tag questions in English and Chinese are discussed in this paper.It is argued that there are two strategies to derive tag questions:either by ellipsis or by empty categories.The tag question and its preceding statement form a conjunction structure,connected by an empty conjunction.Some particles in the sentence-final position were diachronically derived from tag questions under grammaticalization,still preserving some grammatical properties of tag questions.
