This paper summarized four metaphors of philosophy of health from the historical perspective, including cave blind spots of Plato, myth of Gaohuang, Zeno's Paradox and waik balance of "drunken man". Meanwhile, it indicated that the health appeal of modern people could not go beyond the tension of foreordination and temptation and the thought of foreordination and temptation also gave birth to the modernity reflection of health. Furthermore, the ontological error of the simple biological dimension and evidence-based understanding of health was pointed out with the analysis focused on five aspects of humans' formulation of materialization, objectification, picturization, fragmentation, and mathematization. Unfortunately, the hedge of reductionism could not be stepped over, and almost every new health research was not free to the thinking and methods of reductionism. Therefore, a deeper holistic understanding of biopsychosocial spiritual model of health can not be reached.
