目前，现代有轨电车在我国的运用尚属于探索阶段，没有成功的发展经验和成熟的技术标准，其规划设计也大部分停留在参考相关文献资料的基础上进行，对运营过程中的行车组织、旅行速度和运输能力等关键指标也缺乏基于现代有轨电车技术特点的分析和研究；加之中旧闫情与有轨电车使用较为成熟的欧洲国家又存在较大差异，因而目前我国建成的现代有轨电车系统，并没有达到预期的效果，普遍存在客流量不足、运行速度慢、建设成本高等问题，在解决城市交通拥堵、提高公共交通服务水平等方面的作用尚未得到充分发挥。

At present, the application of modem trams in our country still belongs to the exploration phase. There is no successful development experience and matured technical standards. The most part of modern trams＇ planning and designing only stay on the basis of referring to the relevant literature and data. For tram operation organizations, tram-travel speed, tram transportation capacity and other key indicators in the tram-operating process, there is lack of analysis and research based on the technical characteristics of modern trams. In addition, there are considerable differences between China＇s actual conditions and the European countries that can more maturely use trams. Therefore, the modern tram system that our country has built at present fails to achieve the expected results. There are such prevalent issues as inadequate passenger flow volume, slow running-speed and high construction costs. The functions of modem trams have not been brought into full play in solving the problem of the urban traffic jams and improving the public transport services.
