摘要
该文介绍了图示理论的概念,图示理论的三种形态,指出高职学生在英语阅读中普遍存在词汇量不够、缺乏背景信息知识、不能把握篇章的整体框架等三个主要问题,提出可以从帮助学生丰富语言图示、扩充学生的内容图示、指导学生建构形式图示、应用现代图示理论进行英语阅读教学等四个方面提高学生的英语阅读能力。
English reading is one of the most important language skills in language learning. Students with lower language proficiency in vocational college feel difficult in language skills, especially in reading comprehension. This paper introduces the concepts and traditional classifications of schema, points out three common problems existing in student's English reading,illustrates the application of schema theory on the teaching of English reading, and suggests methods on broaden students' language schema, content schema, formula schema, and modern schema theory to improve students' reading competency.
