On Lao She's Manchu Complex from the Drama Da Di Long She

话剧《大地龙蛇》是老舍在昆明讲学期间受东方文化协会所托而作,是一篇带有较强的政治色彩的应时之作。但老舍是怀有民族情结的,作为一名少数民族,他在文章体裁、人物形象和性格等方面融入一位满族作家特有的文化构思,由此可以窥见作家老舍民族情感的抒发以及在此思想下形成的文化性格,通过满民族意识扩大了战争中民族忧患意识的范围。

Invited by The Oriental Culture Association in 1949, Lao She wrote the drama Da Di Long She dur- ing his teaching tour in Kunming, which was a timely work with strong political color. As a Manchurian scholar, Lao She integrated his unique cultural conception into the article style and characters＇ image and personalities in his work, from which the writer＇ s national emotion and cultural character were easy to understand how he borrowed Manchu consciousness to expand the scope of the whole national consciousness of suffering in the wars.
