Three Unbalances in Modern Western Politics——On the Cause of Oakeshott's Animadvert on Political Rationalism

西方近代以来的政治在政治理论、政治活动风格以及国家形态这三个大的层面上都体现为两个极端,而每两个极端之间都出现了失衡,造成这种失衡的原因是政治中的理性主义,这是奥克肖特启动政治理性主义批判的深刻动因。在奥克肖特政治思想的研究中,认识到这一点很关键。

Modern Western politic presents two extremes in the areas of political theory:the style of political activities and the character of modern state.There is a kind of unbalance appeared in the every two extremes.This kind of unbalance is due to rationalism in politics,and this is the deep reason of Oakeshott's animadvert on political rationalism.It is very important to realize this point in the study of Oakeshott's political thoughts.
