T.S.Eliot,the founder of the modernism poetry,changed the way of poetic expression with his prominent skills for one generation.Taking the poet's fundamental masterpiece—The Waste Landas the major text and having a historical survey of his representative works as well,the thesis studies the poet's emotional and rational exploration toward human spirit from his poetic revolutions on the inner structure,the arrangement of the images,and the narration of the poem.With this theme in mind,we can overcome the difficulties arising from the juxtaposed images,changing scenes and various voices in the poem and appreciate the poet's works in different periods much better.
