摘要
阿诺德·伯林特与陈望衡教授分别为美国环境美学和中国环境美学的开拓者。本文从环境观、环境审美模式及环境建设三方面对二者的环境美学思想进行比较研究,找出异同点。在环境观上,伯林特提出"大环境观",认为环境与人并非对立,而是统一;陈望衡认同大环境观,同时也提出环境的"生活观"。在审美模式上,伯林特提出"参与模式";陈望衡提出"对象性消融"。关于环境建设,伯林特提出"审美生态模式";陈望衡提倡"美学主导"原则。通过对比发现,二者环境美学思想各成体系,各有风格,相异但并不相悖,尤其是陈的环境美学思想从中国古代儒、道文化中吸取营养,具有中国特色,为全球环境美学注入了新鲜的血液。
Professor Arnold Berleant and Chen Wangheng are pioneers of environmental aesthetics respec- tively in the United States and in China. This article makes a comparative study on their environmental aesthetic thoughts in three aspects, namely, environmental views, environmental aesthetic patterns and environmental con- struction. In environmental views, Berleant proposes "'macro environment view" which takes environment and mankind not opposing but unifying powers while Chen agrees with Berleant and adds an environmental "life view". In environmental aesthetic patterns, Berleant puts forward "engagement mode" while Chen insists on "ob- ject fusion". In environmental construction~ Berleant brings up "aesthetic ecological mode" while Chen advocates "aesthetics-leading principle". The study shows that their thoughts, though in different systems and styles, are not the same but not conflicting either. It is especially worth mentioning that as Chen's environmental aesthetic thought is deeply rooted in ancient China's Confucian and Taoist cuhures, it is with Chinese characteristics and offers a fresh sight for global environmental aesthetics.
