《诸蕃志》成书新考

海上丝绸之路形成于秦汉,发展于三国隋朝,繁荣于唐宋,转变于明清,是已知的最为古老的海上通商航线。南宋泉州市舶司提举赵汝适撰写的《诸蕃志》为后人提供了一幅波澜壮阔的古代海上丝绸之路历史画卷,是研究中国古代海上交通史和对外交往史的重要文献。本文立足作者身世,分析家庭背景对其成长的影响,对该旷世奇作完成的历史背景和成书主要原因作一探究和述评。

Originating during the Qin and Han Dynasties and consequently growing in the Sui Dynasty,Silk Road on the sea,which once witnessed its flourishing times in the Tang and Song Dynasty,is still regarded the oldest sea routes globally ever known so far. Providing a new horizon to the ancient Silk Road on the sea,Chu-fan-chi,also entitled His Work on the Chinese and Arab Trade in the Twelfth and Thirteenth Centuries written by Chau Ju-kua,a customs official posted at Quanzhou City in the late Southern Song Dynasty,is still an important document for the in-depth study on the ancient history relevant to the maritime traffics between or among Chinese and foreign nations. Based on the combined research of Chau Ju-kua＇s family root and the main contents of his Book Chu-fan-chi,the author elaborates on the solid but reasonable causes leading to his success and social and historical background behind the completion of the masterpiece.
