第五届芷江国际和平文化节邀请函的翻译问题及其引发的思考

芷江国际和平文化节的定期举办对牢记抗战历史、宣扬爱国精神、弘扬和平文化、增强芷江与外界的联系、促进当地社会经济的发展等方面都具有积极的作用。但遗憾的是,芷江国际和平节相关材料的翻译一直存在不少的问题。分析2015年9月举办的第五届芷江国际和平文化节的邀请函的翻译问题,并就问题出现的原因和高校翻译人才的培养进行思考。

The regular holding of Zhijiang Int＇l Peace Culture Festival is of great significance on the following aspects, including engraving on our mind the history of fighting against Japanese aggression, publicizing patriotism, upholding peace culture, and strengthening Zhijiang＇s connection with the outside world so as to promote its social and economic development, etc. Unfortunately, there are not a few translation problems in the foreign - oriented materials of the ac, tivity. This paper, by analyzing the problems in the English version of the invitation letter of ＂The 5ts Zhijiang Int＇l Peace Culture Festival＂ held in this fall, ponders over the causes of the problems and the ways of training qualified English translators in the colleges and universities.
