晚清丹徒籍词人赵彦俞年届六十始在蒋春霖鼓励下尝试作词,七十一岁时成稿《瘦鹤轩词》。因身历太平天国兵燹,又深受淮海词派词风影响,其咏物、记游、凭吊、送别、题词五类题材词作,皆饱含慨叹身世的满腔愁绪和婉约幽怨。其在艺术风格上,善用传统意象,情景高度交融;感情基调沉郁,富有幽怨之美;擅化宋人成句,词笔清秀挺拔。

In the late Qing Dynasty, when Dantu poet Zhao Yanyu was sixty years old, he was encouraged by Jang Chunlin and began experimenting with lyrics, at the age of seventy-one, he finished Shou he xuan poetry. Because of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom war experience, and be affected by Huaihai CI, his Chanting, travel notes, pondered, farewell, inscription five themes in CI, are all full with life melancholy and bitterness. In the artistic style, he is good at using traditional image,blending emotion and scenery. The emotional tone is gloomy and full of sad beauty. He is also good at using words and phrases from Song Dynasty, these articles are very concise powerful.
