Geological characteristics and prospecting direction of Funehun iron deposit in Southern Province of Sierra Leone

枫叶红(Funehun)铁矿位于西非塞拉利昂南方省普杰洪地区境内。经初步勘查已圈定矿体28条,资源量超亿吨,是我国在西非塞拉利昂沉积变质型(BIF)型铁矿勘查的新突破。文章初步总结了该矿床地质特征,提出了区域找矿方向,以期待引起更多学者和企业对塞拉利昂沉积变质型(BIF)型铁矿床的关注。

Funehun iron deposit locates in Pujehun District,Southern Province,Sierra Leone in West Africa.The pilot survey has delineated 28ore-bodies with a total resource amount of over 100 million tons.This deposit is a breakthrough in the exploration of sedimentary/banded iron formation(BIF)iron deposit in Sierra Leone,West Africa which is conducted by China.This paper summarized the geological characteristics of the deposit and proposed regional prospecting direction and the author hoped to attract more attention from scholars and enterprises on this metamorphic sedimentary/banded iron formation(BIF)iron deposit in Sierra Leone.
