跨文化视域下的译者身份

On Translator's Identity from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

翻译实践实质为跨文化交际活动。译者作为翻译活动中重要的主体,其语言选择、语言呈现的过程不可避免地反映了他们的文化身份和实践身份。本研究结合译者葛浩文及其对姜戎作品《狼图腾》的英译本为例,从跨文化交际的角度来探讨译者的身份问题。译者身份既是两种文化共同阅读体验的呈现者,又是不同文化体验的选择者。译者身份是动态的、融合的,而翻译立场会对译者身份的选择产生影响。

The nature of translation is a cross-cultural communication behavior. So when translators make their choice of language to present the source language, their identities will be inevitably reflected in their translated versions. This article studies the translators＇ identities from the perspective of cross-cultural communication by analyzing Goldblatt＇s translation of Jiang Rong＇s novel Wolf Totem. It shows that the translators＇ identities can be the presenter of source culture based on the same embodied experience, or the selector of different cultural experience. The translators＇ identities are dynamic and integrated as a result of their understanding of translators＇ stance.
