Review on politics of the eunuch spy in the Tang dynasty

李辅国是唐代乃至中国整个封建时代宦官特务政治的开山鼻祖,所组建的"察事"为中国古代历史上最早的一个专职秘密警察性质组织。唐代中后期一直为宦官掌控的神策军也是宦官特务政治活动所依靠的主要力量。宦官还以各种手段在宫中、朝内安插卧底,布下耳目,故而在复杂的政治较量中屡占上风,擅权祸国。

Li Fuguo was the founder of eunuch spy in the Tang dynasty as well as the whole feudal times. The detective organization built by him was the earliest secret police organization in the ancient Chinese history. The shence army which was in charge of eunuch in the mid and late Tang dynasty was the major force on which the eunuch spy depended for the political activities. The eunuch took advanta- geous position in the complicated political struggle and brought calamity to the country and the people by undercover operation in the court.
