《红楼梦》塑造了众多的人物形象,人物塑造艺术独步古今,其中赵姨娘这一人物形象被作者曹雪芹赋予了极为丰富的内涵与意义:赵姨娘是一个被毁灭的悲剧形象,由原本的美貌聪慧发展为后来的愚钝恶毒;赵姨娘的悲剧由严酷的生存环境直接造成,她被贾府的主子、奴才们折磨排挤;赵姨娘的形象衬托出主要人物的个性特征并推动故事情节的发展。

Dream of Red Mansions created many characters, among which about four hundred figures appeared in the novel and typical representatives numbered dozens. These characters were created by the author~ great effort and wit, which produced far - reaching effect on the world literary history. Aunt Zhao was one of the successful characters, who was given rich connotation and significance by Cao Xueqin. She was a tragic figure who was destroyed, developing from the original beauty and intelligence into foolish and evil person. Her tragic was caused by the cruel living environment and tormented by her masters and minions. Aunt Zhao＇s image protruded the major figures individual character and pushed the development of story plot.
