Techniques of postmoderuism such as pastiche, reconstruction, parody and deconstruction in The Blood Chamber by Angela Carter are analyzed in this essay. By employing ＂intel＂texuality＂ as a means of creative rebellion, Angela Carter upturned the stereo- typed female image and created a more dimensional and complex one. The traditional relationship between men and women was over- thrown and a new theme--＂ the sisterhood＂ was set up in The Blood Chamber .
