The Department of Compilation and Translation of Marxism-Leninism Institute:An Important Agency on CCP's Compilation and Translation History

马列学院编译部是中共中央设立的第一个专门从事马列主义经典著作编译研究的机构。编译部成立后,张闻天领导制定编译计划并组织实施,在数年内编译出版《马恩丛书》《列宁选集》等经典著作。这一时期,编译工作呈现出组织的统一性与成果的系统性、成果推介的通俗性、译介的准确性与工作成就的实效性等特点,深刻影响中共编译事业的长远发展。马列学院编译工作的有效开展,使得编译部成为抗战初期马列主义经典著作编译研究的中心,在中共编译史上占有重要地位。

The Department of Compilation and Translation of Yan＇an Marxism-Leninism Institute is Chinese Communist Party＇s first agency that specializes in translating and researching classical writings of Marxism and Leninism. Plans on compilation and translation were made and finished under Zhang Wen-tian＇s leadership, and classical writings, such as Manx-Engels series, Selected Works of Lenin, were translated and published within several years. During this period, the compilation and translation work presented some features, the unity of organization, the systematisms of achievements, the popularity of communication, the accuracy of translating, and the timeliness of work. It contributed much to the long-term development of CCP＇s compilation and translation work. During early time of the Anti-Japanese War, its effective work made it a center place of the classic Marxism-Leninism＇s compilation and translation work, which also gave it an important role on CCP＇s compilation and translation history.
