Chinese intellectual history in the past one hundred years:A contemporary reflection

百年中国思想史历经四个发展阶段。从1916年到新中国成立为现代中国思想史的初创和建立期;从新中国成立到20世纪70年代末,为中国思想史的发展和曲折期;从20世纪80年代到21世纪初,为中国思想史的繁荣和迷茫期;21世纪以来特别是2004年以来,为中国思想史的重新定位和自主发展期。思想史因研究思想而具备了恒久的魅力。在百年中国思想史反思的基础上,探寻我们这个民族源远流长的思想基因所在,为中华民族的伟大复兴,提供来自思想史研究者的有益智慧,既是思想史的责任和使命所在,也是思想的力量所在。

The development of the Chinese intellectual history over the past one hundred years falls into four stages： The period from 1916 to the founding of the People＇s Republic of China in 1949 saw its initiation and establishment; from 1949 to the 1970s it went through a tortuous road of development; from the ]980s to the early 21^st century, it became prosperous while showing some puzzlement; and since the 21^st century, especially from 2004 on, it has entered into a new period of reorientation and independent development. The charm of an intellectual history lies in its study of ideas. It is the responsibility and mission for Chinese historians of ideas to explore, based on the reflection on Chinese intellectual history in the past one hundred years, the intellectual gene of our nation with such a long history of ideas, so as to provide their insightful views for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and to reveal the value of thought as well.
